1. Initial screening

The editor checks scope, completeness, ethics and methodological suitability.

2. External review

Independent reviewers submit recommendations, author comments and confidential editor comments.

3. Decision and revision

The editor records revision, acceptance or rejection. Authors upload revised versions and response files.

4. Publication

Accepted work is assigned citation metadata, an issue or online-first status and a final PDF.
